| About My Artisan Bangles My original one-of-a-kind artisan bangles are created in several steps. These bangles start with a wooden base. I use Imported Design Paper for each bangle to create a unique artistic look for each piece. Each bangle is decoupaged in several layers and then highly lacquered to create a glossy, paint-like finish. Some of my designs (below) are made with imported Lokta paper from Nepal made from local artisans and craftpersons. These papers are completely organic and eco-friendly, as the paper is made from the local Lokta bush, which is harvested like sugar-cane. Cutting this plant helps the forest to grow, because this plant regenerates itself every four years! The Lokta paper designs are created in the same way as my other bangles, but the finished look is similar to leather and has a thicker and more distressed feel. |
